REGISTRATIONS
Hunters must register at any of the registration locations or on line at the website, before the animal is harvested. The hunter must provide his/her home address, phone number, e-mail address and proof of age for hunters 18 years and younger. Hunters 18 years old and younger must provide parent or guardian’s name, address, e-mail address and phone number. The registration fee is $20.00 per hunter per deer. The registration fee may be paid in cash, check or PayPal if registering on line. Qualified Outfitters may buy blocks of 20 or more unsigned registration forms. (Sorry, no refunds will be given). All registrants will receive a complimentary Brush Country Big Buck Contest cap.
RULES
All applicable game laws must be followed in the hunt. Any animal taken in an illegal manner is automatically disqualified; the hunter is disqualified and forfeits his/her entry fee. All hunts will be conducted in an ethical manner. All winners must be willing to submit to a polygraph exam at the request of the contest scoring committee. The contest scoring committee’s decision is final in all matters. In case of ties the earliest registration wins. Each hunter may win only one category. If the hunter wishes to enter two bucks he/she must pay the second registration fee before the harvest of the second buck. All hunters must check in with their fresh killed (within 1 week of harvest) animals and be photographed. Caped deer are acceptable. MLD Archery & Gun Permits with be allowed only during the appropriate General Gun & Archery Season (ex. MLD Archery permits will only be accepted during General & Archery season and MLD Gun permits will only be allowed during General Gun season.)
SCORING
The Buckmaster “Full-Credit Scoring System” will be used in accordance with their rule book. The composite score of antler and inside spread will be the determining factor of score for all animals. The judges score and decisions are final. The hunter will be given a complimentary photograph. The photographic image is the property of Brush Country Big Buck Contest and may be used on the leader board, website and in any other promotional materials or advertisements for the contest.
DIVISIONS
There will be high fence and low fence divisions for all categories. Low fence property is defined as property with no game proof fences on it or has at least one mile of it’s perimeter with no game proof fence. High fence property is defined as property enclosed with deer proof fencing or in properties that have less thank one mile of low or no fence on its perimeter. The overall property is considered when making this determination. A low fence pasture in a high fence ranch does not qualify for low fence division. High fence ranches must have at least 200 acres of un-interrupted area for deer to roam/hide.
PRIZES
Prizes and awards will be given out at the “Awards & Kick Off Lunch” in George West, TX. the Opening Weekend of the South Zone Dove Season in a location to be announced. Winners may be asked to bring their winning mounts/horns.

Youth’s Best age 13 and under
Youth’s Second age 13 and under
Youth Best 6 point age 18 and under

Youth Best 8 point age 18 and under
SPECIAL CATEGORY:
PARENT AND CHILD (age 18 or under), bring in two deer (does not have to be at the same time or same date) (does have to be the parent/guardian on the youths registration card) THE COMBINED SCORE FOR BOTH ANIMALS IS THE JUDGING CRITERIA FOR THIS CATEGORY.
***ALL HUNTERS AGE 13 AND UNDER WHO BRING IN AN ANIMAL AND ANY HUNTER BRINGING IN THE FIRST BUCK EVER HARVESTED WILL BE PHOTGRAPHED AND RECOGNIZED ON THE LEADER BOARD AND WEBSITE***
The criteria for the 6, 7 and 8 point bucks, in both youth and Big 8 categories are that they must be “natural”. ANY broken points or non measurable points do not make them eligible for these categories. Judges decisions are final.
